Although many “netpreneurs” have never heard of forum marketing, it is a way to network with people who share your interests and/or values and to let others know about your products, services or programs.
I strongly recommend that you avoid acting like one big walking, talking, forum-using, social networks-using advertisement for your favorite business opportunity. Being “in your face” about your business opportunities in forums and social networks is rude and obnoxious, but even more, it is not an effective way to promote and make a profit with your programs.
Many forums even have strict rules against mentioning any biz ops in your forum postings. Read the F.A.Q. (frequently asked questions) or forum rules to be clear about what you are and are not permitted to do in a forum.
Try to provide helpful and/or inspiring information and resources to those you connect with in forums and on social networks. It is always best to give something of value to others before trying to “get”them to join this or buy that.
Also, be prepared to post on forums on a consistent basis and become a familiar member of the forum.
So where does the marketing part come in, you may wonder? Well, whether you are posting on a forum, sending an email, or using a social networking program, you are usually allowed to have a “signature” that contains one or more website links and space for a brief promotional text.
Signatures, sometimes called signature blocks, are a frequently overlooked but very powerful Internet marketing strategy. I have never known a successful Internet marketer who did not use a promotional signature.
There are many Christian forums on the Internet, but the link below will give you a good jumping off point.

This is awesome advice. That is one thing that 95% of everyone on earth does not like is pushy salesmen/women. Some good advice is that when you are creating relationships online, or off, get to know who they are. Ask yourself if you could spend a week on vacation with the person. When you have the relationship established and they are interested in hearing about your business and what you do, then share. Maybe your business will take a bit longer to establish, but those that you work with will know and trust you, therefore be more likely to stick around!
Great article!
